How did we begin?
Welcome to LA MAXIME. I’m Jacqueline Koo, and this is my story.**
Growing up in Seoul, South Korea, I struggled with persistent sinus issues. It was through the healing power of traditional Korean herbal medicine that I found lasting relief, sparking my lifelong belief in the restorative power of nature.
Several years later, while building my career as a senior IT professional in Melbourne, Australia, I faced a different kind of challenge.
In my early 50s, I noticed visible signs of aging in my skin — enlarged pores, sagging, fine lines, and sudden breakouts caused by hormonal imbalance.
Search for the good old remedy began in 2007
At the time, I was leading a team at Telstra, one of Australia’s top telecommunications companies, where I fine-tuned complex systems to run more efficiently — saving millions of dollars in annual operating expenses.
It struck me: if I could optimize such complex systems, why couldn't I fine-tune skincare formulations to truly deliver results?
When I examined the skincare options available, I was shocked by how many products relied on toxic and synthetic ingredients.
