LA MAXIME Debuts at Galeries Lafayette with Australian Botanical Formulations

Australian Luxury Organic skincare brand LA MAXIME  has made its grand debut at Galeries Lafayette Macao, a prestigious luxury department store. Since January 2025, LA MAXIME’s exceptional products have been showcased in the international skincare section, shining a spotlight on its expanding reputation.

This opportunity came after Galeries Lafayette representatives discovered LA MAXIME at Cosmoprof Hong Kong, a key beauty industry trade show, in November 2024. “They were searching for skincare brands, and our products aligned with their vision of quality and innovation,” explained Jacqueline Koo, the founder of LA MAXIME. The partnership allows the brand to expand its reach into the Asian market through a highly respected retailer.

It features specially crafted products for dry, sensitive, pigmented and aging skin - an area often overlooked by mainstream brands. This partnership places LA MAXIME alongside well-known global skincare names, solidifying its place in the luxury beauty market.

Galeries Lafayette Macao is located on the shores of Nam Van Lake, a tranquil spot adjacent to Macau’s bustling commercial and transportation hub. Spanning 35,000 square feet, this retail space combines fashion and art, featuring over 100 international and niche brands. It includes exclusive areas like "EDIT by Galeries Lafayette," which highlights emerging brands and showcases more than 10 new brands in Macau. The venue regularly hosts events with globally renowned names, offering shoppers an immersive experience of luxury and creativity.

Galeries Lafayette Macao also boasts the tallest indoor illuminated Eiffel Tower art installation in Macau, standing at seven meters. As a "New Waterfront Fashion and Art Landmark," the store is celebrated for its innovation and ability to offer an elevated shopping journey.

Key Products to Launch in Macao

The curated selection at Galeries Lafayette Macao includes LA MAXIME’s most sought-after products, designed to appeal to a diverse customer base. Among these are Antioxidant Cleansing and Nourishing Oil, Dewy Glowy Exfoliating Facial Scrub and Hydrating Mask (2 in 1),  Antioxidant Youthful Glow Toning Milk, Radiant and Maximum Glow Organic Face Serum Duos, Maximum Collagen Booster Antioxidant Moisturizers and Youthful Eyes Anti-Wrinkle Organic Eye Cream.

Each product features Australian Native botanical ingredients such as lemon tea tree oil, kakadu plum, desert lime, and lilli pilli extract, which are renowned for their antioxidant richness and anti-aging benefits. The formulations are best known for addressing common skin concerns like dryness, pigmentation, and fine lines.

“The inclusion of our products in Galeries Lafayette reflects the effort we have put into ensuring efficacy without compromising safety or sustainability,” Koo said. “Our goal has always been to create skincare that excels the user experience and respects the environment.”

The Evolution of LA MAXIME

Jacqueline Koo founded LA MAXIME as a personal project to solve her skincare challenges. After decades as a senior IT professional at Telstra Corporation, Koo transitioned into the beauty industry, dedicating over 15 years to developing formulations that are vegan, cruelty-free, and free of chemical additives and synthetic preservatives commonly found in mainstream skincare products, such as Phenoxyethanol.

What distinguishes the brand is its incorporation of Australian native botanicals blended with plant-based actives. These ingredients support skin health and meet the growing consumer demand for clean beauty.

Koo’s leadership combines technical precision with a deep understanding of skin health. She oversees the development process, ensuring that each product delivers visible results. Now 70, Koo remains actively involved in all facets of the business.

Market Trends and Implications

The global skincare market is expected to grow to $190 billion by 2025, with Asia playing a major role in this expansion. Markets like Macao and Hong Kong are seeing increased demand for high-quality, natural skincare products as consumers become more aware of what they are putting on their skin. Retailers seek brands focusing on high performance, transparency, and clean ingredients.

What’s Next for LA MAXIME

LA MAXIME’s partnership with Galeries Lafayette signifies the brand’s unwavering commitment to excellence in skincare. It highlights the global potential of products that prioritise the efficacy of the Australian Botanical Proprietary Complex and ethical production.

With its launch in Galeries Lafayette Macao, LA MAXIME is taking a step toward establishing itself as a global name in skincare. The collaboration involves skincare products that align with a retailer that values quality and sustainability.

For Koo, the journey is both personal and professional. “It is rewarding to see our products featured alongside world-renowned brands. More importantly, it is an opportunity to share the benefits of Australian Native botanicals with a broader audience,” she said. This partnership paves the way for further global expansion, cementing LA MAXIME as a distinctive voice in luxury skincare.
